SumaiL: the history of the youngest champion

SumaiL is a professional player in Dota 2, the youngest champion of The International and certainly a very talented person. His short but successful path in Dota 2 is known to almost everyone, but let's still update the memory a little and remember what Sumail managed to achieve in 3 years of his career.

Sumail Hassan was born on February 13, 1999, in Karachi, Pakistan. He started playing Dota when he was only eight years old. In 2012, the Sumail family moved to Rosemont, Illinois. It was then that SumaiL began playing in the North American Elite League. It took him very little time to occupy a high position in this league, recommending himself as one of the most promising young talents in North America.

Sumail was so talented that UNiVeRsE literally made the EG organization pay attention to the young talent. His debut LAN tournament was Dota 2 League Season 5 in Las Vegas. Then the team performed poorly, and critics wondered if SumaiL deserved a place in such a team as Evil Geniuses. At the moment, we can say with confidence that it certainly deserves. In his career SumaiL earned $ 2,458,513.

The first epic victory, which SumaiL proved to be a very good player, was a victory on the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2015. In the first match, the player presented his tactic Shadow Fiend Shadow Fiend through Eul's, which very quickly entered the meter and is still popular pores. ppdEG captain at that time, tried to poke so that Sumail was comfortable playing, that's why the team was able to immediately after the groups in the top 4 tournaments.

The team very confidently defeated Na'Vi and Big God, but was thrown out by VG in the final of the top grid. Having beaten Team Secret, EG went to a rematch against VG, and there Sumail was able to prove that he is one of the best players in the central line in the world. The most revealing game of the tournament was one of the final games where SumaiL started 0-3-0 on Storm Spirit, but despite a bad start, he gathered and led his team to a victory with a score of 17-7-11.

The breakthrough result of Sumail on DAC allowed him to become a very serious opponent for almost all Chinese and Western Dota scenes. He also received the reputation of one of the best Storm Spirit in the game. Sumail helped EG to prove itself as one of the best teams in early 2015, earning $ 1,284,158 from winning the DAC

In 2015, EG and Team Secret were the explicit favorites of the season. At The International 2015 both teams started well, but Team Secret left the tournament, finishing 8th and leaving the tournament for the EG. "Evil geniuses", in turn, reached the finals of the top grid and got beaten by machine, called CDEC, who made their way to the finals through Wild Card. EG were able to pick up this tournament by defeating CDEC in the final with a score of 3: 1. They took $ 6,634,661 with them and thereby made SumaiL the first young player to have earned more than $ 1,000,000 on e-sports.

In 2016, Sumail had a bad start. His team finished third at Shanghai Major. After the direct invitation to TI6, the team experienced changes, and they were forced to go through open qualifications. Having successfully passed them, the team reached the third place in the tournament. After a short vacation after TI6, Sumail continued his march and took 1st place on MDL Autumn 2016.

In the 2017-2018 season, SumaiL plays in EG as a hardliner. Change of roles was a forced change, in connection with the return of Fear, the departure of UNiVeRsE and the presence of Arteezy in the team. Sumail's Team at the moment does not get to The International 2018 directly, but they still have time and place to compete for this invite. We wish good luck to the young talent and wish him to show himself on the pro-stage for many more years.
